Hello all,
Allow me to introduce my self and talk about me in this post as it is the first post in IT-JO blog.
My name is Rakan AlHneiti, a graduate student with Bcs degree in Computer science obtained in the University of Jordan. I also work as a freelancer in web development using PHP/MySQL tools. I also like programming using Delphi, .NET (C# and ASP.NET that is) and recently have interest in Ruby and it’s On Rails programming framework.
If you really insist on getting to know my hobbies, what i like and what i dont like i will tell you that my main hobby exploring programming languages and operating systems, dont really like chatting on any of the availables messengers like MSN and Yahoo but you can say i have to do it from time to time when i feel like wasting time, or when i am bored or studying ofcourse you will find me sitting close to my computer implementing different ideas that never occur to me when i am free but only when i am doing something important like studying.
Speaking of computer-based hobby i introduced my self to Linux along time ago but started using it instead of windows recently when i got the configuration phase all done. It’s been a long time when i first installed a linux distro on my PC but i always seem to find problems in my Network Interface cards which annoys me and forces me to get rid of the installation off my computer. But, and trust me in this one, once you get all drivers installed and get everything done regarding any hardware configuration you will find that linux is OS for you. You can at least find all software that you regularly use on Windows available for you without having to look for cr*ks or ser**ls just like you always do for Windows-based software. I recommend you to have a look at Kubuntu or Ubuntu Linux distribution.
Regarding my other hobbies i like playing football, Swimming, reading books when i get the chance. I left those hobbies away for last because i tend to rarely do them because of differant reasons such as university burdens and other commitments.
Anyway, Stay tuned to this blog because i promise you to that you will see alot of topics about different programming topics, linux or windows topics and some other thoughts that might be interesting enough for me to share them with you.
